General Public Access Computers are
located
near the Reference Desk on the
main floor.
We offer Microsoft Office software
applications, including Word,
Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Internet Explorer, as well as electronic
database resources.
Educational games are also available on the Children's
computers.
The Library's computers accept 3.5" floppy discs, CDs
and flash (USB port) drives. Select computers have CD burners. Please
ask a Computer Tech if you need to write files onto a CD.
Our library's
collection is
available online via the online public access catalog (OPAC). OPAC
terminals are located in the reference area, the Children's and Young
Adult areas and Media. The OPAC can be searched using titles,
authors, subjects or keywords.
Patrons must have a valid library card. A valid library card is one that has less than $5.00 in fines. Out-of-town visitors may use the computers for up to two (2) weeks after showing a valid picture ID and signing the Internet policy.
Patrons who want to use the Library computers must sign the Thomas Branigan Memorial Library - Policy On Use Of Public Access Library Equipment. Juveniles (under the age of 18) must have a parent or guardian's signature on the Internet policy.
Computers are available on a first come/first serve basis.
Time limit is one hour for general use of computers.
Patrons who do not promptly give up a computer at the end of their scheduled session or as directed by Library staff will lose privileges for computer access.
