Library Cards

A new library card is issued at no charge to Dona Ana County residents. Adults must present a photo ID in order to get a Library card. Children 14 years and under must have a parent sign their application for a card. Individuals who live outside of the County, but have a valid card from their New Mexico library, are also eligible and may apply for a free card from the Branigan Library.

It only takes a few minutes to register for your card and you can use it on your first visit. You can borrow books, videos, music compact discs and books on tape from any of the library's circulating collections. A maximum of thirty (30) items may be checked out at any one time.

Since the cardholder is responsible for any materials checked out on his/her card, it is very unwise to loan a library card to another person. A $5 replacement fee is charged if the card is lost, stolen or damaged beyond use.

Please inform the library staff if a card is lost or stolen or if an address or telephone number has changed. YOU MUST HAVE YOUR LIBRARY CARD WITH YOU IN ORDER TO CHECK OUT ANY MATERIALS. Failure to return library materials is a serious matter and can result in library privileges being suspended or referral to a collection agency.
