The Criminal Investigations Section is staffed by:
- 18 Detectives
- A Crime Analyst
- Identification and Evidence Technicians

- The Victims Assistance Unit
Section Commander
Lieutenant Peter Bradley is the section commander and oversees the operations of the Criminal Investigations Section.
Sergeants
Sergeants Ricardo Porras, Joshua Savage, and Michael Henke are the first-line supervisors in the unit. Their duties include overseeing the day-to-day operations of the section, scheduling, and daily assignments, reviewing police reports for investigative assignments, and reviewing each detective’s caseload. The sergeants also respond to and provide guidance to detectives investigating serious felony crimes.

Crimes Against Persons Detectives
The crimes against persons detectives investigate crimes committed against others such as:
- Aggravated Assault/Battery
- Elderly Abuse
- False Imprisonment
- Homicide
- Kidnapping
- Robbery
- Sexual Assault
- Unattended/Unexpected Deaths
Crimes Against Children Detectives
The crimes against children detectives investigate crimes committed against children. Those crimes may include child abuse or neglect, sexual assaults, contributing to the delinquency of minors and runaways.
Financial Crimes Detectives
The financial crimes detectives are experts in monetary or fiscal crimes such as:
- Computer Crimes
- Credit/Debit Card Crimes
- Embezzlement
- Forgery
- Fraud
- Identity Theft
Property Crimes Detectives
The property crimes detectives, as the title suggests, investigate such crimes as burglaries, larceny, felony vandalism and cases of auto theft.
Domestic Violence Detective
The domestic violence detective handles domestic-related crimes such as stalking, aggravated assault, and battery against a household member.
Domestic Violence Officer
The domestic violence officer is responsible for reviewing all domestic violence cases. The officer ensures that conditions of release of suspects are adhered to and that all reasonable efforts have been made to protect the victims of domestic violence which may include the service of domestic violence protection orders.
Crime Analyst
The crime analyst charts criminal offenses, and assists detectives and officers with their investigations. The crime analyst also tracks trends in crime and is able to provide information or statistics that often are vital in solving and preventing crime.
