As part of its next phase of reopening, the Thomas Branigan Memorial Library is excited to announce it will begin offering limited lobby service starting Monday, September 14, 2020. 

Lobby Service Hours: M-S, 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM,  Patrons will be allowed in the library's lobby to return materials, pick up holds and browse new books and selected collections from the Children’s, Young Adult, Media and Periodicals sections. Patrons will also be able to request items from the closed off areas and staff will retrieve them, or they can place a hold on those items from home and pick them up later. Masks are required inside the building.

Curbside Pick-Up Hours: M-S, 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM, call ahead (575) 528-4000 or request online, to request pick-up or for more information. Curbside pick-up is contactless and staff cannot accept returns. Books by Mail also continues for those who prefer receiving their books in the mail.

Computer Lab Hours: M-F, 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM, S 10:00 AM - 3:45 PM, call ahead (575) 528-4000, to see if there is a wait or if computers are available. Computer lab capacity has been reduced to allow for social distancing. Masks are required inside the building.

Reference Hours: M-S, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM,  by calling (575) 528-4005 for reference services such as library card sign-up, and digital resource troubleshooting.

The Munson and Sage Branches will remain closed.

The book drop is open for item returns. If you have items that have been checked out since March, you can return them to the book drop. The Library will not be extending due dates after August 7, 2020. Fines and fees are still being waived. The Library is not currently accepting donations of books, videos or magazines.

Do you need a library card to access our digital services from home? 

Complete the online application here. Once we process your application, you will receive an email with your library card Number. To pickup your card, contact the Circulation Desk to schedule a pickup time during Curbside Pickup hours. A photo ID will be required at time of pickup. For more information contact the Circulation desk at (575) 528-4000 or e-mail Library Circulation. *Notice: Online card applications will no longer be available after October 9, 2020. A happy little girl reading a book A FREE library card is available to Dona Ana County, New Mexico residents with a valid photo ID with a current address, or a valid photo ID and a current proof of address, such as a utility bill or lease.  New Mexico residents who live outside of Dona Ana county can receive a free library card with a valid photo ID, current proof of address, and a library card from where they live.  Children and teens 17 years and under must have a parent or guardian sign their application for a card. Parents and guardians must have a library account in good standing in order to sign their child up for a card. A $5 replacement fee is charged if the card is lost, stolen or damaged beyond use.
