SHORT RANGE TRANSIT PLAN
The RoadRUNNER Short Range Transit Plan (SRTP) is a 5-year transit that will create clear goals to improve transit in Las Cruces.
Project Vision
The RoadRUNNER SRTP will include a technical analysis and a robust public education and engagement process to determine the following:
- How can we move and connect people in Las Cruces?
- How can we do it efficiently, save time, and provide a more dependable system?

Below is an overview of the RoadRUNNER SRTP process that will help shape the future of Las Cruces transit.
Public Engagement
The RoadRUNNER SRTP team wants to hear about your vision for transit in Las Cruces!Understanding the needs and wants from Las Cruces residents will help develop a shared understanding of the benefits associated with great transit, and your input will help form the transit recommendations that will impact Las Cruces in the next 5 years. To date the project team has conducted an existing conditions analysis of the transit service in Las Cruces. Click below to download:

Survey Results
In addition, hundreds of you responded to the public survey. Thank you so much for your feedback! Below, you’ll find some highlights from what we heard:
- 65% of respondents say they spend too much time waiting on the bus.
- 10 minutes is the longest amount of time riders will wait for a bus, according to 37% of respondents.
- 66% of respondents would prefer their bus came more often, even if they have to walk farther to their bus stop.

How to get involved
You're invited to a virtual public meeting! During the event, you'll learn more about the plan, get a deep dive on changes we might make, and provide feedback about what YOU want to see happen in the Las Cruces transit system.

Additionally, you can visit the “open house” at the Mesilla Valley Intermodal Transit Terminal (MVITT) to view presentation materials on posters and brochures. Materials and feedback opportunities will be provided at the transit center anytime during business hours from August 23rd - September 3rd. The MVITT is located at 300 W Lohman Ave.
