The “Discover Las Cruces Public Art” Scavenger Hunt Grand Prize winner was selected by the City Art Board and Las Cruces Public Art Program, culminating the audio stories scavenger hunt conducted during the month of October.
Winner Morgan Tierney was selected by random draw from a pool of weekly winners who answered the scavenger hunt clues correctly. Miss Tierney was part of a youth group who hunted down the clues together.
“We received lots of positive feedback from participants,” said Katrina Chandler, City Art Board Chair. “They had fun doing the scavenger hunt and want to do more. This helps when considering expanding the audio story pilot program.”
Participants were required to visit nine designated public art pieces in the city, scan a QR code, listen to the audio story, and answer the clues correctly.
Signs with the QR codes will remain in place so interested visitors can listen to the audio stories. A complete interactive map of the City of Las Cruces public art collection can be found at www.lascruces.gov/PublicArt.
