The Truckers Toy Run, scheduled for Saturday with several commercial motor vehicles traveling from Vado, N.M., to the Field of Dreams in Las Cruces, will temporarily close intersections along Lohman Avenue, Amador Avenue and Motel Boulevard during the escort.
The Toy Run will begin at 10 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 10, in Vado, N.M., and will head west on Interstate 10 to Las Cruces with a rally point at the Field of Dreams. The entire run is anticipated to last from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday.
Police anticipate temporary closures at intersections along the route:
- West on Interstate 10 from Vado to the I-25 interchange.
- I-25 north to Lohman Avenue.
- West on Lohman Avenue.
- West on Amador Avenue.
- North on Motel Boulevard to the Field of Dreams.
The event will include an estimated 50-75 commercial motor vehicles that will be escorted by marked units from the Anthony Police Department, Las Cruces Police Department, Dona Ana County Sheriff’s Office and New Mexico State Police.
Police encourage motorists to obey the temporary closures and refrain from blocking private drives that lead to businesses along the route.
