[ARCHIVED] Fire Department to Graduate 17 Cadets

The Las Cruces Fire Department will graduate 17 cadets from its 35th Fire Academy on Friday.
  
 The graduation ceremony will begin at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16, at the Dona Ana Community College East Mesa Auditorium. The ceremony is open to the public.
  
 Fire cadets expected to graduate Friday include Antonio Alvarado, Joshua Calzada, Aaron Castillo, Juan Castillo, Michael Clifton, Andrew Davis, Joshua Duran, Austin Harris, Jasen Kewshaw, Robert Lopez, Ryan Milka, Ivan Molina, Gabriel Morales, Raul Prieto, Eric Prosser, Adriana Reyes and Charles Roybal.
  
 The Fire Academy began Sept. 12 and included 14 weeks of firefighting training in the field and classroom. Beginning Dec. 18, 12 of the cadets who already have their EMS license will begin working in shift rotations. Five of the cadets will begin their shift rotations after completing an additional eight-week EMT course through the Fire Academy.
