Construction at Parking Lot 7 will resume Dec. 27, marking the final phase of renovations for the parking lot on the corner of Water Street and Las Cruces Avenue.
The north side of the lot was resurfaced in 2021.
The project also includes the demolition and replacement of the current restroom facilities. The new restrooms are set to be open by the end of December and will have twice the capacity of the current restrooms.
In addition to the upgraded restrooms, the parking lot will feature a new enclosure for trash and recycling as well as additional lighting.
The current trash and recycling facilities will be temporally relocated to the parking lot at the northeast corner of Griggs Avenue and Water Street, as well as across the street in the parking lot next to El Paso Electric.
Construction fencing will be installed around the south end of the lot on Dec. 27, making it inaccessible to the public. The north side will still be available for public parking,
It is anticipated the lot will fully reopen in March 2023.
