Thomas Branigan Memorial Library, 200 E. Picacho Ave., will again offer a variety of free computer literacy classes designed to help adults develop confidence in their computer skills and grow more comfortable in today’s digital world.

Each session is an independent class. There is no registration, however, space is limited.

The first 10 attendees are guaranteed a computer. Attendees are welcome to bring their laptops if space permits.  Classes are in the Computer Training Classroom on the second floor of Thomas Branigan Memorial Library.

Basic Computer Skills – 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, Jan. 9, 2023.
Are you uncomfortable using a computer? Do you want to understand how to use it without the fear of doing something to break it? This class will discuss what computers are and some ways to properly use them in your daily lives.

Cell Phone Basics – 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2023.
Did you know your cell phone can do more than make phone calls? Do your family and friends ask you to send them text messages, but you do not know how? Join us as we uncover some of the tools your phone has. Students should bring their Android or iPhone to class for a hands-on experience.

Microsoft Word Basics – 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2023.
A class for those who are beginning to use Microsoft Word. Students will learn how to create and format basic documents. Basic computer skills are required.

Your Email Questions Answered – 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2023.
Do you have questions on how to better use your email? Do you know how to send attachments? Walk in and ask your question or stay the entire time to discuss different email solutions. Your wildest email questions will be answered.

This document can be made available in alternate formats by calling 575/528-4102 or 575/528-4008 (TTY). Anyone who requires an accommodation for a disability to participate in this event should call the library at least 48 hours in advance at 575/528-4102 or 575-528-4008 (TTY).

Check the Library’s Calendar of Events for future computer literacy classes. For more information, contact Vicki Minnick, Librarian Senior, at 575/528-4002 or vminnick@las-cruces.org.
