A Ribbon Cutting Ceremony to herald the impending start of commercial flights at Las Cruces Airport, 8950 Zia Boulevard, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2023.
Mayor Ken Miyagishima and Las Cruces City Councilors will join City administrators, and Levi Stockton, president of Advanced Air to host the event.
The public is welcome to attend, and invited guests include members of the City’s Airport Advisory Board; New Mexico Department of Transportation Aviation Director Pedro Rael and Planner Marilu Melendez; some members of the New Mexico State Senate and New Mexico House of Representatives; and representatives of New Mexico’s Congressional Delegation.
Comments will be made by Mayor Miyagishima, Councilors Johana Bencomo and Yvonne Flores, and Stockton. Members of the Greater Las Cruces Chamber of Commerce will then conduct the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony.
Advanced Air will begin commercial air service operations in Las Cruces on Jan. 16. The last time commercial air service was available in Las Cruces was 2005.
The ceremony will be live streamed on the City’s YouTube channel. In the event there are technical issues with connectivity during the remote live stream broadcast, a recording of the event will be posted for viewing at a later time.
