Las Cruces firefighters extinguished a mobile home fire on south Valley Drive early Tuesday evening.
About 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 17, firefighters were dispatched to a structure fire on the 2300 block of south Valley Drive. Upon arrival, firefighters found a single-wide mobile home on fire.
Firefighters searched the mobile home and found no one inside. The fire was brought under control within 20 minutes of the first fire crew’s arrival.
It’s believed the fire started in a utility closet before extending. The blaze caused heavy fire and smoke damage to the mobile home. Damage to the home resulted in the displacement of one resident.
No injuries were reported. The exact cause and damage estimates have yet to be determined.
