[ARCHIVED] Fire to vacant building causes minor damage

Firefighters fighting fire on N. Main St.

Las Cruces firefighters were called to a fire in a vacant building in the 1400 block of north Main Street at 9:05 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 21, 2023. 

Arriving at the scene, firefighters initially found smoke coming from the structure. Crews entered the building and found fire contained to one of the rooms. 

The fire was brought under control within 25 minutes. There were no injuries to firefighters or civilians. 

The building had multiple broken doors and windows and was unsecured. The building sustained minor smoke and fire damage.
