The New Mexico Department of Transportation District One office in cooperation with Mountain States Construction, Inc., the project contractor, will continue with the roadway rehabilitation project on U.S. Highway 70 from milepost 143, the Interstate 10 and U.S. 70 interchange, to milepost 161, in Organ.
Drivers can expect various daytime lane closures on the frontage road and intersections on all eastbound and westbound lanes from NASA Road to Del Ray Boulevard. Beginning Thursday, Feb. 9, 2023, crews will be moving to the Wiesner Road intersection which could impact travel on Balsam Road.
The contractor’s daily hours of operation will be from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. During milling and paving operations, lanes will be closed for each lane of travel. Traffic can travel to the next intersection to turn around.
