Join us at Thomas Branigan Memorial Library, 200 E, Picacho Ave., from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 21 in the Roadrunner Room to meet and color with three local artists who participated in this year's “A is for Artist/A de Artista” coloring book released by the New Mexico Department of Cultural Affairs.
“A is for Artist” is a multi-lingual New Mexico-themed alphabet coloring book. It features illustrations by 27 artists from across the state.
Through the playful act of coloring each page, you will learn about the special qualities of New Mexico such as its flora, fauna, and culture.
The three local artists, Coy Lowther, Collette Marie, and Katie Mena would love to answer questions about their influences, how they began their careers as artists, and how you can become an artist too! There will be large whiteboards with each of the three local artists’ work, plus a coloring book and art supplies to take home.
