[ARCHIVED] Water Outage Planned for Water Main Rehabilitation Alley North of Picacho Project

Pipe on Sixth Street

The following areas will experience a water outage from 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2023.

  • Between Valley Drive and Second Street – west to east – and between Picacho Avenue and Parker Road – south to north.
  • The following addresses south of Picacho Avenue also will be affected: 855 Sixth St.; 1301 Sixth St.; 1305 Sixth St.; 1307 Sixth St.; 1007 Third St.; 1003 Third St.; 1001A Third St.; 1001B Third St.; 890 Third St.; 854 Third St.; 993 Third St., and 991 Third St.

Adjacent areas also may be affected by the outage. If water on your street is scheduled to be turned off, a door-hanger notice will be posted a minimum of 24 hours in advance.

Once service is restored, residents may notice discolored water due to iron, manganese, and calcium deposits. Although the water is safe to drink, the City recommends waiting for the water to become clear before washing laundry.

The discoloration should disappear within 24 hours. If it does not, residents should flush all cold-water faucets in their home for five minutes. If the discoloration persists, call Las Cruces Utilities Dispatch at 575/526-0500 for assistance.

For information, call 575/528-3689. The TTY number is 575/528-3541.
