The Las Cruces Police Department will host its first "Cars, Coffee and Cops" event to meet area residents who have a passion for classic and custom vehicles.
The free event will be from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 12, 2019, at Young Park, 850 S. Walnut St. Area residents who wish to show their classic or custom vehicles are encouraged to arrive early for the best parking spots.
In addition to free coffee and doughnuts, LCPD will offer free Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) etching to those who wish to have their vehicles protected. Etching the VIN on all windows is a countermeasure to motor vehicle theft as it reduces the value of vehicles stolen and are sold for parts.
Residents are encouraged to stop by and meet with LCPD officers, who can discuss any safety or law enforcement concerns they may have.
