The
Las Cruces Police Department is hosting its first Cars, Coffee and Cops event
to meet area residents who have a passion for classic and custom vehicles.
The
free event will be held from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 12, at Young Park,
850 S. Walnut St. Area residents who wish to show their classic or custom
vehicles are encouraged to arrive early for best parking spots.
Besides
the free coffee and donuts, LCPD will offer free VIN etching to those who wish
to have their vehicles protected. Etching the VIN on all windows is a
countermeasure to motor vehicle theft as it reduces the value of vehicles
stolen and are sold for parts.
Residents
are encouraged to stop by, meet with LCPD officers, and discuss any safety or
law enforcement concerns they may have.
