[ARCHIVED] Lucky Charms Career Fair will be March 10

Career Fair

The City of Las Cruces Economic Development Department, in partnership with New Mexico Workforce Connection, will sponsor the Lucky Charm Career Fair, from 1-4 p.m. Friday, March 10, 2023, at the Las Cruces Convention Center, 680 E. University Ave.

Employer registration for the event will be available until 5 p.m. Wednesday, March 8. All registrants will be provided a table and two chairs. Online registration is at www.employnm.com/post/career-fair-031023.

The job fair is free to employers and job seekers. Free bus fare to and from the career fair will be offered by RoadRUNNER Transit.

Also, all job seekers who attend the career fair will have an opportunity to receive a free giveaway. However, quantities will be limited.

A free résumé building workshop will be offered at noon March 17 to job seekers who may need help preparing their résumé. Also, New Mexico Workforce Connection offers free virtual workshops in Software in the Workplace; Résumé Skills; and Interview Skills.

Job seekers are reminded to dress for success and bring multiple copies of their résumé. On the spot job interviews will be available, and interpreter services will be provided for deaf and hard of hearing career seekers. Also, New Mexico Workforce Connection experts will be available for mock interview assistance.

At least 21 prospective employers are expected to attend the career fair, and more could be added. Employers who have indicated they will attend the event include: the Roswell Job Corps Center; La Clinica de Familia; KFC: the New Mexico Rural Water Association Apprenticeship Program; OFI; Casa de Oro Center; Doña Ana County Detention Center; Families and Youth Innovation Plus; Community Options, Inc.; KTSM 9 News; Ambercare; James Hamilton Construction Co.; New Mexico Department of Transportation; New Mexico Department of Health/Public Health Division; the U.S. Army; Doña Ana County Fire and Rescue; New Mexico State Police Dispatch and Patrol; Doña Ana County Sheriff’s Office; Principle Medical Billing Services; the El Paso Police Department; DH Lescombes Winery; and Tresco, Inc.
