A brush fire passed through a fence and set fire to a storage shed Monday morning.
Shortly before 8 a.m. Monday, March 6, Las Cruces firefighters were dispatched to what was initially called a brush fire at a residence on the 500 block of Bonita Circle. When crews arrived, they learned the brush fire extended through a fence and into a storage shed in the backyard of the residence.
Firefighters deployed a handline to the rear of the residence and quickly extinguished the shed and brush fire. The fire was brought under control within about 15 minutes.
No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire and damage estimates have yet to be determined.
