The New Mexico Department of Transportation District One office, in cooperation with Mountain States Construction, Inc., the contractor for the project, continues with a roadway rehabilitation project on U.S. Highway 70 from milepost 143, the interchange at Interstate 10 and U.S. 70, to milepost 161, in Organ.
Drivers can expect various daytime lane closures on the frontage roads and intersections on all eastbound and westbound lanes from NASA Road to Del Rey Boulevard. Drivers should expect delays and plan accordingly.
Beginning Monday, March 13, 2023, crews will be moving to the Mesa Grande Drive intersection. Crews will also be crack sealing on the Bataan Memorial East and West frontage roads with one lane closed as needed. Starting Thursday, March 16, 2023, crews will begin night work from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. at the Sonoma Ranch Boulevard intersection.
During milling and paving operations lanes will be closed daily for each lane of travel, traffic is advised to travel to the next intersection to turn around. The contractor’s hours of operation will be from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday to Friday.
