[ARCHIVED] Fire Damages Bedroom to Ancho Avenue Home

The Las Cruces Fire Department credited the fast actions of a neighbor who used a garden hose to isolate a fire to a bedroom of a house in the 2900 block of Ancho Avenue.
 
The residential fire was reported to LCFD shortly after 4 p.m. Sunday, March 12, 2023. Upon arrival, firefighters found fire in a second-floor bedroom of the house, where two adults and two children resided. The fire was controlled by LCFD firefighters within minutes.
 
In a subsequent search of the home, firefighters found the family’s dog, who was returned unharmed to them.
 
The cause of the fire is under investigation, and the estimated damage to the house has not yet been determined.
