The City of Las Cruces will continue its semiannual Business Boot Camp series with a workshop for business owners and operators about employee engagement, mentoring, professional development, succession and estate planning. The Business Boot Camp will be from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2019 at the Las Cruces Convention Center, 680 E. University Ave.

The series is designed to provide business owners and operators with a forum to engage with one another and discuss best practices for running a business.

Seating for the event will be limited to the first 50 business owners and operators to RSVP to the event. Lunch will be provided at no charge. To RSVP for the event, email Cruz Ramos, economic development specialist for the City of Las Cruces, at cramos@las-cruces.org.

Registered attendees will receive a confirmation email within 24 hours after their reservation has been finalized. Any attendee cancellations should be reported at least 24 hours prior to the workshop in order to accommodate individuals on the wait list.

“The series was designed to provide business owners with the tools they need to be successful,” said Mandy Guss, business development administrator for the City of Las Cruces. “Not only is it a great networking opportunity, it also provides information about topics that matter most to local business leaders.”

Debbi Moore, president and chief executive officer of the Greater Las Cruces Chamber of Commerce, will be the keynote speaker and moderator for the workshop. Having spent the past 30 years working with chambers of commerce and other nonprofits, Moore has led the chamber as President and CEO since 2016. In 2018, Moore was awarded the New Mexico Legacy Award by the U.S. Small Business Administration New Mexico District Office for her contributions to the state’s economy and her job creation efforts.

The event will also feature a panel discussion with Tracey Bryan, president and CEO of The Bridge of Southern New Mexico; Rick Jackson, CEO and founder of American Document Services; and Mary Ann Quesada, Advisor, Small Business Development for the Las Cruces Small Business Development Center.

The Business Boot Camp series was developed in 2018 by the City of Las Cruces Economic Development department, working in collaboration with the Las Cruces Green Chamber of Commerce, the Las Cruces Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and the Greater Las Cruces Chamber of Commerce.
