The following areas will experience water outages between 6:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. Thursday, March 16, 2023, as part of the Water Main Rehabilitation Alley North of Picacho Project.
- Between Valley Drive and Second Street (west to east) and between Picacho Avenue and Parker Road (south to north).
- The following addresses south of Picacho Avenue also will be affected: 855 Sixth St.; 1301 Sixth St.; 1305 Sixth St.; 1307 Sixth St.; 1007 Third St.; 1003 Third St.; 1001A Third St.; 1001B Third St.; 890 Third St.; 854 Third St.; 993 Third St.; and 991 Third St.
Adjacent areas also may be affected by the outage. If water on your street is scheduled to be turned off, a door hanger notice will be posted a minimum of 24-hours in advance.
Once service is restored, residents may notice discolored water due to iron, manganese, and calcium deposits. Although the water is safe to drink, the City recommends waiting to wash laundry until after the water becomes clear.
The discoloration should disappear within 24 hours. If it does not, residents should flush all cold-water faucets for five minutes. If the discoloration remains, call the Las Cruces Utilities Dispatch at 575/526-0500 for assistance.
