The City of Las Cruces Parks & Recreation Department will offer individual registration for the Recreational Youth Volleyball beginning Tuesday, May 30, 2023.
There will be three age divisions offered to all genders: 10-Under, 12-Under and 14-Under. The age division are for youth who were enrolled in middle school during the 2023-2024 school year.
Proof of age, grade verification for 14-Under players, and a *Parks & Recreation (P&R) Activity ID Card is required to register. The fees to participate are $45 per individual, which includes a jersey, or $35 for returning players, which does not include a jersey.
League play begins the week of July 10, 2023. Space is limited in all divisions, and registration is on a first-come, first-served basis.
To obtain a *P&R Activity ID card, a parent or guardian, and child must appear in person at Meerscheidt Recreation Center, 1600 E. Hadley Ave. to fill out the permission form, provide proof of age and/or grade verification, and have the child’s photo taken. ID cards can be obtained between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m. Monday to Friday and between 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. ID cards will not be issued on registration dates.

To register online, a current P&R Activity ID card is required on file by Monday, May 22, 2023. Individuals who are registering online for the first time are highly encouraged to meet with a Recreation Services Coordinator at Meerscheidt Recreation Center before May 22 to have a brief tutorial on navigating the online portal, to validate their P&R Activity ID card, and to ensure account/login information is accurate.
Team placement:
- Formation of teams is under the discretion of Meerscheidt staff.
- Participants will be required to play in their respective age division and will not be allowed to “play up” a division.
- Requesting placement onto specific teams will not be allowed. Siblings in the same household may be placed on the same team ONLY if they qualify for the same age division and sibling notification is recorded by Meerscheidt staff during registration.
- Switching teams will not be allowed once teams have been formed and assigned to coaches.
