To: LCPD College Intern Mentors
From: Lisa Montoya, Senior Office Assistant
This year, the Las Cruces Police Department implemented a "first of its kind" internship program for current college students. The implementation required staff from several sections from all over the department willing to be shadowed and willing to teach a young adult about the work they do. Personnel was instrumental in assisting with this process. They taught and inspired interns selected over the course of several weeks. The dedication to this program is inspired by future law enforcement officers and educated young adults within the community we serve. The Police Academy and the Commendation Board would like to recognize and thank these staff members for their efforts. They include Det. Dustin Lockridge, TO Todd Telles, Ofc. Brian Kelley, Ofc. Felipe Hernandez, Det. Connie Heard, Supervisors Michael Roach and Gino Jimenez (pictured far right), Evidence Tech. Stella Carabajal, PIO Dan Trujillo (pictured far left), Sr. Ofc. Asst. David Aguayo (pictured center), and Noelle Andrade.
