Las Cruces-Dona Ana County Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward up to $1,000 for information that helps police identify the suspect or suspects in the May 9 shooting of a 69-year-old man on Lujan Street.
Shortly before 9 p.m. Tuesday, May 9, Las Cruces police were dispatched to the 500 block of Lujan Street where they located the victim suffering from at least one gunshot wound. The victim was transported to University Medical Center of El Paso where he was listed in critical but stable condition.
Investigators are trying to identify individuals who may have witnessed the shooting. One vehicle was seen in the area near the time of the shooting. Images of the vehicle were captured on security cameras.
Also, a bicyclist was seen in the area and may also have information important to the investigation.
Investigators hope to identify and talk to the driver of the vehicle and the bicyclist in hopes of gaining information on the identity of the suspect or suspects in this case.
Crime Stoppers of Las Cruces-Dona Ana County allows tips to be provided anonymously. Anyone with information that can help identify the suspect is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477. Tips can also be provided through the Las Cruces Crime Stoppers app, “P3 TIPS.” The app is available through the App Store on most devices.
