[ARCHIVED] Traffic Signal Upgrades at North Main and Picacho/Motel Intersections

Intersection of Picacho and Motel Blvd

Traffic signal upgrades at several Las Cruces intersections will be made from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, May 18, 2023, and will continue for approximately one week.

The affected intersections will be:

  • Main Street at Interstate 25 southbound off-ramp.
  • Main Street at El Camino Real.
  • Main Street at Solano Drive.
  • Picacho Avenue at Motel Boulevard.

The project is expected to be completed by 5 p.m. Friday, May 26, 2023. Motorists should be aware that intermittent lane closures may be necessary. Construction signs will be posted for the duration of the work.

Surrounding businesses and residences will remain accessible. RoadRUNNER Transit routes will not be affected.

The City has verified that no conflicting public or private construction projects will take place in the affected immediate areas during this time. The work will be in City Council Districts 1 and 4.

Motorists are urged to use caution through those areas or use an alternate route to avoid possible delays, as the work could impact traffic along north Main Street (U.S Highway 70) in all directions.

For information, call the Public Works Department/Traffic Management program at 575/541-2505. The TTY number is 575/541-2182.
