The City of Las Cruces’ Neighborhood Services program has been selected to be a presenter at the U.S. Housing and Urban Development’s (HUD) third National CARES Act Virtual Conference, from Monday, May 22, 2023, to Thursday, May 25, 2023.
The City’s Neighborhood Services program will be a featured presenter at two sessions. Only nine of approximately 1,200 entitlement communities in the U.S. were chosen for each day.
The City was recognized for its creative strategies and its standard operating procedures for the administration of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds. The City also will be featured in a CDBG/CDBG-CV Best Practices report to Congress.
The four-day 2023 National Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act Virtual Conference will focus on learning how to best administer CARES Act funding, with sessions covering the CDBG CARES Act (CDBG-CV), housing opportunities for persons with AIDS CARES Act (HOPWA-CV), and emergency solutions grants CARES Act (ESG-CV). Grantees and technical assistance providers will share best practices for resilience, financial and administrative controls, and more.
The conference will feature virtual training to help grantees best use CARES Act funding to help their communities prevent, prepare for, and respond to coronavirus.
