Individual
volunteers, groups and civic organizations are encouraged to register for this
year’s Toss No Mas Cleanup from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 12. Keep
Las Cruces Beautiful (KLCB), City of Las Cruces Parks and Recreation, and New
Mexico Clean and Beautiful programs will host the annual Toss No Mas Cleanup, a
great opportunity to show pride in Las Cruces.
Keep
Las Cruces Beautiful will have a centralized location, at Young Park, 1905 Nevada Ave., for information, supplies
and locations identified to be cleaned up.
Volunteers will be treated to a free lunch following the cleanup, hosted by KLCB, from noon to 1 p.m. Hundreds of volunteers participate each year to collect
litter at parks, schools, streets and business properties during the Toss No
Mas Cleanup campaign.
Last
year, 2,000 volunteers from 60 local groups and organizations collected more
than 16 tons of litter during the annual event. The Toss No Mas Cleanup
campaign is organized locally by KLCB and is a statewide initiative in
partnership with New Mexico True.
Volunteers are encouraged to register online here for Toss No Mas by Friday, Oct. 4 or call 575/528-4506 for information.
