through Nov. 2, 2019. During early voting eligible voters can cast their
ballots from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at the Doña Ana County
Government Center, 845 N. Motel Boulevard.

Alternate
Early Voting Convenience Centers will be open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday to
Saturday from Oct. 19 through Nov. 2. At City Hall, early voting will be
conducted in the Conference Room of the City Clerk’s Office, at the southeast
corner of the lobby at City Hall.
Las
Cruces’ municipal elections will include races for Mayor, City Council districts
1, 2 and 4, and Presiding Municipal Court Judge. Ten candidates are entered in
the Mayoral election, two candidates are running for City Council District 1,
four candidates in District 2, three candidates in District 3, and two
candidates for Presiding Municipal Court Judge. Elections for the Soil and
Water Conservation District, and bond questions for the Las Cruces Public
Schools and Doña Ana Community College will also be conducted.
Beginning
with this election, Las Cruces voters will elect a Mayor, City Councilors in
Districts 1, 2, 4 and Presiding Municipal Judge using Ranked Choice Voting.
With Ranked Choice Voting, voters will get to rank the candidates from favorite
to least favorite. For a candidate to win, they must receive a majority of the
vote, 50 percent plus one. If a candidate gets a majority of first preference
votes, they win. If no candidate gets a majority of first preference votes, the
candidate with the fewest first preference votes is eliminated. Voters who
picked that candidate as the first choice would have their second preference
vote count.
