A murder suspect from Roswell was apprehended Wednesday morning by Las Cruces police.
Jesus Alberto Robles, 34, of Roswell, N.M., is charged out of Roswell with one count of first-degree murder and for being a felon in possession of a firearm.
Police in Roswell obtained a warrant for Robles’ arrest after the Friday, Oct. 4, shooting death of his girlfriend. The woman, 33-year-old Griselda Rascon, was found Friday evening inside her Roswell home with a gunshot wound to her head. She died a short time later at a Roswell hospital.
Las Cruces police learned Robles may be in the area and was possibly driving a silver 2007 Chevrolet pickup. Las Cruces police located the vehicle shortly after 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 9, and pulled traffic on the 1100 block of Monte Vista. The pickup came to a stop, but the driver and passenger jumped from the vehicle and led LCPD officers on a brief foot pursuit before both were taken into custody. The name of the second man is not being released at this time.
Robles and the passenger of his vehicle were both arrested on warrants and will be held for investigators from the Roswell Police Department. The Roswell Police Department is the lead investigative agency on this incident.
