One lucky attendee at Saturday’s Cars, Coffee and Cops event will drive away with a free LoJack vehicle recovery system courtesy the Las Cruces Police Department.
LCPD will provide one free participant – either someone showing a car or a visitor – with a free LoJack system. No purchase is necessary, but you must be present at Saturday’s car show to be eligible for the free system.
The Cars, Coffee and Cops event will be held from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 12, at Young Park, 850 S. Walnut St. Those who wish to show their custom or classic vehicles, or any vehicle they consider show-worthy, are encouraged to arrive early for the best parking spots. Dunkin’ Donuts will provide free coffee and donuts.
LCPD will offer free VIN etching to those who wish to have their vehicles protected. Etching the VIN on all windows is a countermeasure to motor vehicle theft as it reduces the value of vehicles stolen and sold for parts. VIN etching begins at 9 a.m. Saturday and is free to anyone – car show participants and attendees – who bring a vehicle to the event.
Residents are encouraged to stop by, meet with LCPD officers, and discuss any safety or law enforcement concerns they may have.
