The City of Las Cruces Parks & Recreation Department will offer Group Bike Riding from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. beginning Friday, November 1, at the Frank O’Brien Papen Community Center, 304 W. Bell Ave. Rides will be held each Friday at the same time at various locations throughout the City.
The program is for residents who want to start bicycling for exercise or return to riding. Each ride has a set distance and designation ranging from 10 - 20 miles at 12-15 m.p.h. Routes are local, utilizing city bike paths and roads. Participants are required to provide their own bikes, helmets, patch kits, water, snacks, and other items needed for each excursion. Bikes with multiple gears (road and hybrid) are strongly recommended. Cost per outing is $5 per participant and $2.50 for seniors 60 years of age and older.
