[ARCHIVED] Celebrate Halloween Early at Spooky Downtown

Kids trick-or-treating

Celebrate Halloween early at Spooky Downtown, a whole day of Halloween fun for ghouls of all ages. 

The event will take place on October 26 at Downtown Las Cruces, and features children activities, vendors, food trucks, dance performances, live music, and a laser show. RoadRUNNER Transit will be offering FREE rides!

From 10 a.m. to noon, enjoy a "Haunted Museum" adventure at the Museum of Nature & Science, 411 N. Main Street. Make glow in the dark slime and assemble a skeleton; design a jack-o'-lantern out of clay; decorate gourds to ward off evil spirits with the Branigan Cultural Center; and learn about nocturnal animals in the Nature Center. The event is FREE and open to all. Costumes welcome!

From 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. settle in at the Branigan Library for a "Family-Friendly Halloween Flick." The library is located at 200 E Picacho Ave. The event is FREE and open to all. From noon to 3:30 p.m. children ages 4-12 will have the opportunity to pick out a pumpkin from the “water pumpkin Patch” at the Las Cruces Regional Aquatic Center, 1401 E. Hadley Ave. Children must be accompanied by an adult during the event and parents of non-swimmers must accompany their children in the water.

Admission is $3/Child, parents FREE. 

From 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Main Street will once again be home to the walking dead as the Downtown Las Cruces Partnerships hosts the "Zombie Walk." 

The event features live music by The Beaux Peep Show, Emcees provided by Bravo Mic DJ's, dance performances by local high schools/dance troupes, food trucks, vendors, and a laser show. General Admission is FREE, but if you want to participate on the Zombie costume contest the entry fee is $5/person, $20/ teams of four or more. 

Registration begins at 5 p.m. Zombie Parade at 7 p.m. For more information, visit downtownlascruces.org/zombie-walk.
