The City of Las Cruces reminds residents who participated in the Energy Savings Tree Giveaway to pick up their trees between 8 a.m. and noon Saturday, Nov. 9, 2019 at a special event at Lynn Middle School, 950 S. Walnut St.
The City of Las Cruces gave away 200 desert willow trees through the Arbor Day Foundation’s Energy-Saving Trees program with a grant from the Apache Corporation’s Community Partnership.
Las Cruces residents reserved their trees through the Arbor Day Foundation online tool at www.arborday.org/lascruces. The tool helps residents to conserve energy and reduce utility costs while beautifying their neighborhoods.
The trees will be distributed in five-gallon containers for easy transport. When residents pick up their trees, City staff will provide planting and care instructions and helping participants to load their trees. No trees will be held for later pick up.
