As part of the City’s Neighborhood Traffic Calming Program, a traffic calming device will be placed on Mars Avenue to slow traffic in the area. During the week of November 18-22, City of Las Cruces Traffic Management will install a speed table on Mars Avenue located between Neptune Drive and Lunarridge Street.
When the construction of the traffic calming device takes place, additional signage along Mars Avenue will be installed in conjunction with the traffic calming device. City crews from the Streets section will be working daily from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and road work completion is expected to take approximately two working days.
Motorists are asked to use caution through this area or use alternatives routes to avoid possible delays as the construction will have intermittent road closures that will affect traffic along Mars Avenue. The City has verified that no conflicting public or private construction projects will take place in the immediate area at this time and RoadRUNNER Transit routes will not be affected.
