Residents and business in the 900 block area of Amador Avenue will experience a water outage for four hours beginning at 9 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 14, for work on a water main leading into the Mesilla Valley Community of Hope. The affected businesses and areas are:

• AA Auto Service, 911 W. Amador Ave.

• Stone Masters, 921 W. Amador Ave.

• Mesilla Valley Community of Hope campus, 999 W. Amador Ave. (i.e., Amador Health

Center, El Caldito Soup Kitchen, Jardin de los Ninos, Casa de Peregrinos, and Camp

Hope)

• Families & Youth, Inc. and El Crucero, 1089 W. Amador Ave.

Adjacent areas also may be affected.

Once service is restored, water may be discolored due to iron, manganese and calcium deposits. Although the water is safe to drink, the City recommends waiting to wash laundry until after the water becomes clear. The discoloration should disappear within 24 hours. If it does not, flush all faucets for five minutes. If the discoloration remains, call the City of Las Cruces at 575/526-0500 for assistance.

For more information, call 575/528-3098. The TTY number is 575/541-2182. For after-hour assistance, call Utility Dispatch at 575/526-0500
