The
man found critically injured last week on west Madrid Avenue has died and Las
Cruces Crime Stoppers is offering a $2,000 reward for information that helps
identify the person or persons responsible for his death.
About
9:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6, a passerby called 911 after finding a man on the
roadway near the 200 block of west Madrid Avenue near Alameda Boulevard. Las
Cruces police and fire responded to find the man unresponsive and suffering
from severe trauma to his head.
The
man was identified as 44-year-old Tom Henry Croy.
Croy
was initially transported to a local hospital and then to University Medical
Center of El Paso where he succumbed to his injuries on Nov. 7.
Investigators
are trying to determine where Tom Henry Croy may have been or who he was with
on Nov. 5 and Nov. 6. Anyone with information is asked to call Las Cruces Crime
Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477. Tips can also be provided through the Las Cruces
Crime Stoppers app, “P3 TIPS.” The app is available through the App Store on
most devices.
Those
who call Crime Stoppers do not have to leave their name and their tips remain
anonymous.
