Bring your curiosity to the Las Cruces Museum of Nature & Science (MONAS) for a hands-on investigation that involves the whole family at “Saturday Family Science – Oil Spill Clean Up” presented by the MONAS Saturday, Dec. 7, from noon to 1 p.m. Entry to the museum and program are free, and no registration is required.
Fossil fuels account for nearly 80% of our energy source with 20.5 million barrels of petroleum used in the United States every day. While engineers and geologists work to create safer ways of getting oil, there are still accidents. Learn about the impacts of oil spills and work together as a family to test different clean-up methods.
The Museum of Nature & Science is located at 411 N. Main Street and is open Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The museum is accessible from RoadRUNNER Transit Route 1 Stop 36.
