- As of midnight April 18, 2019, the City of Las Cruces has accepted about 940 asylum seekers.
- As of 1 p.m. today, 140 arrived, with more expected.
- Active sites are the Gospel Rescue Mission, Community of Hope and Doña Ana County Crisis Triage Center. El Calvario has offered space.
- CaFé has discontinued its travel process for asylum seekers but will continue to assist with its volunteers. All travel arrangements are now being done at the Triage Center.
- A Las Cruces Fire Department (LCFD) Battalion Chief is now serving in the Operations Section in the Emergency Management Center.
- At 8 a.m. Friday, LCFD Battalion Chief Mike Daniels will assume area command. Cullen Combs, director of the Doña Ana County/City of Las Cruces Office of Emergency Management, will take over long-term planning.
- Amanda Bowen, with the Office of Emergency Management, will become deputy commander and operations director as of Friday, April 19, 2019.
