[ARCHIVED] Sunday Fire Damages Mobile Home on Karen Avenue

Firefighters quickly extinguished a mobile home fire on Karen Avenue Sunday afternoon.

First responders were dispatched to the fire on the 300 block of Karen Avenue, off Dona Ana Road, shortly before 2 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 23. Las Cruces firefighters arrived within six minutes of the initial call and located the fire in a single-wide mobile home.

Firefighters attacked the blaze and had it under control within 12 minutes. No injuries were reported.

The fire caused extensive damage to the mobile home and some damage to a home just south of the originating structure. High winds were a concern, but firefighters contained the fire to the immediate area.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation and damage estimates are unavailable.
