Residents
on Van Patten Avenue, from 2nd Street to 4th Street, will
experience a water outage, between the hours of 9 p.m. Monday April 29, 2019 to
1 a.m. Tuesday, April 30, 2019. Smith and Aguirre Construction Company, Inc.
will complete tie-ins for a new water main.
Adjacent areas also may be affected by the outage. Once service is restored, residents may notice discolored water due to iron, manganese and calcium deposits. Although the water is safe to drink, city officials recommend waiting to wash laundry until the water becomes clear.
The
discoloration should disappear within 24 hours. If it does not, residents
should flush all faucets in the house for five minutes. If the
discoloration remains, call the City at 575/526-0500 for assistance.
