Residents along Court Avenue, between Armijo Street and Alameda Boulevard, will experience a water outage between 8 p.m. Thursday, March 12, 2020, and midnight Friday, March 13, 2020. Morrow Enterprises will be installing a water repair clamp.
Adjacent areas may also be affected by the outage. If water on your street is scheduled to be turned off, City crews will post a door hanger notice a minimum of 24 hours in advance.
Once service is restored, residents may notice discolored water due to iron, manganese and calcium deposits. Although the water is safe to drink, City officials recommend waiting for the water to become clear before washing laundry.
The discoloration should disappear within 24 hours. If it does not, residents should flush all cold water and exterior faucets in their house for five minutes. If the discoloration remains, call the Las Cruces Utilities at 575/526-0500 for assistance.
For information, call the Public Works Department, Construction Management at 575/528-3098. The TTY number is 575/541-2182. For after-hour assistance, call Utility Dispatch at 575/526-0500.
