Following guidance from Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham and the New Mexico Department of Health-related to limiting large public gatherings, the City of Las Cruces has closed certain parks and recreation areas to reduce the number of people who gather.

The following specialty parks were closed and secured with gates:

Butterfield Shooting Range

  • Skate Park
  • BMX Track
  • Dog Park
  • RC/Archery Park
  • Athletic Ballfields
  • Tennis/Pickleball Courts

These locations have signs posted with Parks & Recreation Department contact information. As social distancing guidelines become stricter, Parks & Recreation is asking for the public’s understanding that these measures have been put into place to keep person to person contact at a minimum.
