April 1st is Census Day (no fooling!), a day when the entire nation gets together and completes the 2020 Census. In celebration, the Thomas Branigan Memorial Library invites young artists between the ages of 5 and 17 to create art showcasing the “Be Counted” Theme.
Submissions must be freehand (no copying or tracing allowed) and may include the use of colored pencil, pen, paint, markers, crayons, or other media on an 8 ½” x 11” sheet of paper.
Artwork must be original, previously unpublished and free of copyright restrictions. To submit your art work, take a picture and send it by email to clcengage@las-cruces.org or post it to Facebook, Twitter or Instagram using the hashtag #LasCrucesCounts.
Artwork must not include religious, political, or obscene content. Artwork may not include images that are computer generated or any digital photography. Do not include your name in the artwork to remain anonymous for the judges. By submitting your artwork, you agree to have artwork published in social media and other outlets.
Deadline for entries is Wednesday, April 15. Winners will be announced on Friday, April 17. First, Second, and Third place winners will be awarded with a prize!
