The U.S. census is a count of all residents in the United States taken every 10 years and is required by the U.S. Constitution. It is used to determine political representation and federal funding distribution for governments, including at the state and local levels. In 2020, it will determine how many congressional representatives New Mexico will have for the next decade. It also is used to fund many services and programs used by members of the Las Cruces community such as meal programs, health care and community infrastructure. Getting an accurate and complete count of all residents is vital. If you missed filling out the census online, a paper census will be sent by mid-April to households that have not yet responded. A few minutes is all it takes to fill out the form that affects our future for the next 10 years.

For more information, check out the City of Las Cruces  Facebook page or online at  Census 2020.
