Pursuant to the updated stay-at-home order issued by Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham’s office, the closure of the Las Cruces Museums has been extended through Thursday, April 30. All programs, events, outreaches, and classes originally scheduled at the Branigan Cultural Center, Museum of Art, Museum of Nature & Science, and Railroad Museum are cancelled in an effort to minimize health risks of the COVID-19 virus to our community.
Public health experts, the Centers for Disease Control, and New Mexico Department of Health advise that social distancing is the most effective strategy for mitigating the spread of COVID-19. The Museum System is following guidelines for sanitation in our facilities through consistent regular cleaning of frequently touched surfaces. We encourage the community to join our staff in practicing good hygiene by washing hands for 20 seconds, avoiding touching your face, and staying home unless absolutely necessary.
Please follow the recommendations and up-to-date information on the City of Las Cruces designated COVID-19 website at https://covid19LasCruces.com or the New Mexico Department of Health website at https://cv.nmhealth.org/. If you or a family member are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 contact your healthcare provider and call the NMDOH hotline at 1-855-600-3453 immediately.
