City of Anthony 

 Chief Lara, Anthony PD – had several calls late in the afternoon yesterday regarding large gatherings.  

City of Anthony will have its regular board meeting at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 15 using video conferencing. Additional information can be found online at www.cityofanthonynm.org.  

  1. City of Sunland Park 

Nothing new operationally to report Monday. Police responded to a few mass gatherings yesterday. Fire department did an Easter bunny tour through town, which was well received within the community. All social distancing regulations were observed; fire trucks kept moving and no gatherings culminated.     

  1. City of Las Cruces 

Didn’t have a lot of calls over the weekendParticipated in a call with the DOH and State of NM over the weekend to discuss alternate sites for those who need medical attention but don’t need to be hospitalized. Effort is to mitigate any strain on hospital resources.   

  1. Las Cruces Police Department / Las Cruces Fire Department 

No citations issued yesterday related to large gatheringsPolice had a busy weekend, but nothing atypical. Fire is having a busy morning Monday 

  1. Las Cruces Public Schools 

Today is the first day of online and remote learning. Had technology check-out last week and will continue this week to assist families who couldn’t make it. Families that need assistance with internet service will be given access codes to connect. LCPS is using Mr. Owl for online learning as a platform for instruction at every grade level.  Additional resources and information can be found at www.lcps.net 

  1. Doña Ana County 

Produced a video last week with Commissioners in English and SpanishWill have a BOCC meeting tomorrow morning at 9 a.m. Although the Government Center remains closed, public access will be available through video conferencing. Those details will be finalized as soon as possible.  

Jamie Michael, Director of Health and Human Services, is working with UNM and promotoras on video materials addressing stress management and assistance with root causes of family violence. Will share those with the JIC when they are available. 

 

  1. Doña Ana County Sheriff’s Office 

DASO’s Mounted Patrol was out yesterday proactively patrolling for mass gatheringsSgt. Gojkovich had a question for PD on what statute they were following on citing mass gatheringsSince public spaces were closed, citations would have been for trespassing. 

  1. Doña Ana County Detention Center 

 Nothing new operationally to report Monday 

  1. Village of Hatch 

Hatch PD: people are overall compliant with the public health order. They are also seeing a spike in domestic violence calls. 

  1. Town of Mesilla 

 Nothing new to report; no violations over the weekend. Will have a regular Board of Trustee meeting tonight at 6 p.m. via teleconference: 1-346-248-7799 (meeting ID 308-193-527#). Full agenda can be found online at www.mesillanm.gov  

  1. Memorial Medical Center (MMC) 

 Nothing new to report Monday.     

  1. Mountain View Regional Medical Center 

 Nreport Monday.

  1. Office of Emergency Management (OEM) 

       No report Monday. Officer Barron – question about PPE requirement. Patty will relay request.

  No report on Monday. 

  1. State of NM Aging & Long-Term Services - Ombudsman Program 

       Nothing new to report Monday. 

  1. Mesilla Valley Regional Dispatch Authority (MVRDA) 

       No report Monday  

  1. U.S. Customs and Border Protection, El Paso Sector 

There have been positive COVID-19 cases reported in ranks; 14 agents are currently quarantined.  

  1. New Mexico Department of Health 

       No report Friday.
