COVID19 Joint Information Center

  1. City of Anthony 

 Chief Lara, Anthony PD – Nothing operationally new to report. Good on PPE.  

 Oscar Dominguez, City Manager – Board meeting today at 2:00. Link for public to participate can be found online at www.cityofanthonynm.com 

  1.  City of Sunland Park 

Remapping main city phone number to include COVID-19 information. Should be functional this week, or early next week. Automated messaging will direct callers accordingly.  

Operations continue as usual.  

  1. City of Las Cruces 

Nothing new to report.   

  1. Las Cruces Police Department / Las Cruces Fire Department 

Fire has issued approximately 100 load occupancy signs produced over the last week to businesses.  

  1. Las Cruces Public Schools 

     First week of remote learning continues, as well as internet access codes to those who need          them. There were approximately 15 families who live outside the Comcast service area, so LCPS is coordinating internet hot spot distribution. District is also working on promotions for the 2020 Census.      

  1. Doña Ana County 

Jamie: food distribution going well, increased volume of food going to the rural communities. BOCC yesterday approved disaster declaration.  

 

  1. Doña Ana County Sheriff’s Office 

Nothing to report on Wednesday.  

  1. Doña Ana County Detention Center 

 Nothing to report on Wednesday 

  1. Village of Hatch 

No report on Wednesday.  

  1. Town of Mesilla 

 Nothing new to report 

  1. Memorial Medical Center (MMC) 

 Nothing new to report Wednesday    

  1. Mountain View Regional Medical Center 

Seeing an increased amount of people who are seriously ill with non-COVID related symptoms and are delaying getting medical attention. These numbers are 40 to 50 times the number of those hospitalized due to COVID-19. There was concern expressed for a PSA to remind residents not to delay seeking medical attention because of COVID-19 fears.  

  1. New Mexico State University 

NMSU Board of Regents have meeting Tuesday via Zoom to discuss tuition rates, budgets for the coming year.    

  1.  New Mexico State University Police  

Nothing new to report Wednesday    

  1. Office of Emergency Management (OEM) 

       Had a change in the alternate care site, will have an update once those details are finalized.  

       Received a media request that was forwarded to the JIC Director. David Morgan from DOH offered to alleviate some of those requests also.  

  1. Southern New Mexico Correctional Facility 

  No report on Wednesday. 

  1. State of NM Aging & Long-Term Services - Ombudsman Program 

       Nothing new to report Wednesday. 

  1. Mesilla Valley Regional Dispatch Authority (MVRDA) 

       No report Wednesday  

  1. U.S. Customs and Border Protection, El Paso Sector 

No report Wednesday.   

  1. New Mexico Department of Health 

       Governor will be speaking today at 2:00 streamed on her Facebook page.  

     There was also some discussion about the DOH’s new dashboard feature on their COVID-19 site that breaks down testing information by county. David Morgan relayed to the group that more discussions are happening at the state level to be more amenable to public information requests and details related to what that might look like, or how that will be disseminated, are still being finalized.
